Tajima or SWF?

Hello,

We currently have a 6-head Tajima and we need a new machine. We are considering going with SWF because they are cheaper. We do only very simple embroidery (small upper left chest).

Thoughts?

Nothing wrong with the Tajima. We are very busy so we need a second machine. SWF is a lot less expensive, but we're worried that the quality will not be as good. Plus, the hoops are not compatible, so that would be a little annoying as well.

If anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate it.

My suggestion, a used tajima in good condition. You already know the machine so there is little to no learning curve as well as the fixtures and hoops being the same.

I work on Tajima and SWF and are both good machines. I have customers who use exclusively Tajima and others that use exclusively SWF.

What you are doing is balancing price against quality. Tajima is the better machine, but it is also more expensive.

I have 2 Tajima machines and needed another machine. I got a Barudan and I'm very happy with it.

Which ever machine you choose I would make sure the hoops are interchangable and how you download your file is the same. We have a tajima and a barudan. So in turn 2 different sets of hoops and the tajima works off usb and the barudan requires a compact flash. A real pain at times.

I agree with Minimalist. Personally I have SWF's but only because I cut my teeth on Tajimas and felt the SWF was close enough that I could maintain and the price was great, but not concerned about hoops... so stick with what you know and get a preowned one. all is good.

Tajima is what I would go with. I agree with Dennis because I work on both machines myself. It is like comparing a Toyota(Tajima) to a Hyundai(Korean). SWF is a good machine but keep in mind they went bankrupt not to long ago and parts are hard to find and are mostly outsourced from Korea. SWF offers a buy back program on single heads if you buy a multi-head they will give you 100% of what you paid because they need the parts.

The newer Tajimas single heads are now outsourced in China. If you got a older Tajima I would keep it. I would search for another pre owned Tajima

hey, you get what you pay, I sold new swf in 6 months, buy Tajima or barudan both are good machines, I like Barundan does great job for 3d puff and run great.
