Thoughts on 6c vs 8c

United States

Still researching autos. There are two Sportsmans available at a pretty good price, but they are in a 6/8 configuration. I'd like to keep the price below 23K because I still need to buy a compressor/chiller. Think I should keep holding out to find an 8C press? I've seen a bunch of Gauntlet I's, but I'm not impressed with their feature set. Looking for a newer press.

For those of you who have or had a 6C auto, how fast did you outgrow it? Do you wish you went 8+ colors to start?

Well a lot of factors, space was a major issue. This press only has an 11' diameter was priced right and will do everything I need it to do. Price is always the biggest factor for me...

Thanks but that didn't really address any of my questions.

If you can, try to get an 8 color. You'll loose a head with the flash, and you'll want a cool down station two, so that basically limits you to a 6-color design. If you're doing index printing, you'll want 8 plus print heads for sure.
Take your time and look around for a while. Check all of the classifieds.
Good luck to you!

That's why I went with the Javelin, print and flash on the same head without sacrificing a "cool down" or flash station...
