USB Emulator with Tajima TEHX 2002-2006

Those of you that know embroidery machines well and have experience with this question please answer, if you have no idea of what I am asking don't bother answering.

Do you know if the $40 off ebay GOTEK usb emulator will work with TEHX embroidery machine?

Here is a link to one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-3-5-USB-1-44MB-SSD-Floppy-Drive-Emulator-For-Embroidery-Machine-/160767259603?pt=US_Floppy_Zip_Jaz_Drives&hash=item256e79b3d3#ht_4353wt_1398

if you have personal experience that would be very appreciated feedback.

Thank you.

it works just perfect, make sure you get the right one. there are 2 types 720K or 1.4M.
Check your machine manual to see which on is yours.

It's a 2005 tehx c1501. I don't think the manual specifies those details. If I am not wrong the 1.44 is also compatible with the 720 but the 720 won't work in 1.44.

Saw one on eBay which stated 1.44, 720 and some others so that's where I got that info.

So I guess the tehx uses 1.44 MV floppies so should be replaced with 1.44mb USB emulator.

There is something different about each one of those emulators that translate certain files differently and so some work for embroidery machines and some don't.

Anyone out here can recommend an exact unit that you have used and know it works?

There is something different about many of these the way they handle data and that they may be compatible with some machines and not compatible with other machines. Look on ebay for brother USB emulator and you may find something there. I found one that clearly states tajima TEHX compatible and the one in above link when emailed seller I was told its not compatible with Tajima TEHX.

The compatible one is on ebay for $39 + $6 shipping much less than hirsch option.

In answer your question without any doubt, Seller of USB Emulator needs to know variables of YOUR current Floppy Drive: TYPE, BRAND, DISK SIZE and DATA FORMAT.

There's an extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE ~ REPUTABLE Seller on eBay you should provide YOUR variables on your existing Floppy Drive to get your answer and quote of best price I've seen, includes free shipping.

Seller : marcmart.usa ( 24414) 99.6% Positive feedback, excellent FB for over 24 thousand sales.

See eBay Item: 251065302688, $27.99 with Free Shipping. Use Contact Seller, Ask Question (Note there is a time difference, it may take 24 hours to get a reply).

Providing Brand, Model and Year of embroidery machine is not as important as the actual Floppy Drive variables (but also good-to-know data you should provide when seeking your answer/quote).

If you don't know your Specific Floppy drive variables, check your machine manual, data may or maynot be listed. If not, remove your current Floppy Drive (a couple screws in Control Panel, variables are imprinted on your Floppy Drive, data will be accurate and you'll get an accurate answer and quote.

There's many great deals to be had on eBay. I recommend you always stick with a Seller whose got a proven track record, high FB score, high sales volume (They know what they are doing, (been there-done that), they get it right the first time and provide excellent pre and post sale customer service (respond to your all your questions within eBay guidelines), ship timely and package well so your item arrives safely.

I am in no way affiliated with the above mentioned Seller and/or Product, just passing on helpful data.

Happy Embroidering,
Beth

Bought one from an eBay seller: travelinwind and it was the cheap ($40) GoTek model from China. It DID NOT WORK on my Tajima Tehx C1501. I think it had something to do with the jumper settings... After lots of emailing back and forth and trying to understand their broken English, i returned it.

There is another one that says it works on the TEHX and this one is black and ships from India...its a bit more ($75) but when i messaged the seller: floppy_to_usb asking if it worked on the TEHX they replied that it has not been tested...

Continuing the search...
