Used Heat Press Machine

United States

I am looking for a used, small heat press machine for home use with my costume business. I would primarily be using it for crystal transfers and occasionally t-shirt transfers. I wouldn't use if very often but want the convenience of having it vs using an iron. Any ideas on where to find one and what features should I be looking for? Also, how much do you think a small, new one would cost that would fit my needs?
Thanks - Deanna

First ask yourself what would be the largest size in any direction would you be heat pressing. Presses come in various sizes and are priced accordingly. My recommendation would be to get nothing smaller than 15" X 15". But you may have other ideas.

That was the size I was kind of thinking of. I don't know if I need anything much bigger. I also don't want it to take up a lot of space since it isn't something that will get used very often. Is there any specific brands I should be considering AND staying away from?

Acme's got some pretty good little presses: http://www.acmeheatpressllc.com/html/products.html
I hate the color, but what are you gonna do?

I've also got a jumbo Lawson press, they're pretty good too: http://www.lawsonsp.com/equipment/index-screen-digital-equipment-heattransfer.htm

All i have to say is to not cheap out on a heat press. Get something name brand. I have a Hix swingman now that i use daily. I used to have a cheapo made in china press that lasted 3 months but was lucky enuff to have made me enough to buy the Hix.

Good luck!

Is the Stahls auto open press still available? If so, how old is the press?
Thanks!
