Hi
I want to start a Home base embroidery business but I'm not sure if I should buy a used machine or new. That is my big question
Used Machine:
PROS : Cheaper.
CONS :
- Requires more maintenance
- It might run at lower speed than a new one.
- The real condition is unsure/unknown until you buy it unless you already know the machine's operation or the owner.
- Any other?
New Machine:
PROS : New so you expect from it full productivity and low maintenance.
CONS: Expensive.
So the question is new or used? I assuming I have the money to buy a single head machine.
I have heard a good option would be to buy a 2 or 4 multi head used machine.
and if a person is going to buy a used machine how you can be sure the condition of the machine is the same as the owner claims?
Any comment or suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Used or New single head machine
If you are just starting out you should never buy new crawl before you walk. You can buy great used machines for a low price. Good luck with everything!
Re: Used or New single head machine
With a new machine you will get training both of the machine and the software, you most likely won't get that with a used machine. We have purchased both new and used for our shop, but they were the same manufacturer so the training we had already received work on the used machine. You need to make sure there is a mechanic near you, you don't want to start off paying travel expenses along with their hourly rate. Good luck.
Re: Used or New single head machine
I can only speak for Barudan. We bought a new one along with the ESP plan and the training you get is excellent and I can go as many times as I want. If your budget will allow, new is the only way to go. There is more to the ESP plan other than training so go to the web site and check it out.
