Hey, I live in Monroe, LA (that is northeast Louisiana) and I want a small home machine that is gently used. I have a sewing machine that embroiderys but I know that I want to make the next step to the multi-needle machine. Please put out the word that I am am interested in these two brands and please contact me, I am willing to pick up a machine. Of course, I need to be sure that 1) good machine, that functions like new 2) priced to sell. Thanks, Phyllis

Re: Wanted Brother or BabyLock multi-thread machine
I am not a commercial embroiderer. I "do" some for customers, but so far, it's been all personal use & gifts. You might consider contacting DATASTITCH. They are in Texas. i have no affiliation with that company. i did, however, purchase a Toyota 850 single head 12 needle USED machine from them. I looked at the Janome & the Brother machines & #1 felt that the price of a NEW Janome / Brother was the same as a used commercial machine #2 If you go with a commercial machine, they have more metal than plastic in them! #3 For me, they had a repair man that lives in my state. That I have not had to have come see my machine the whole time I have used it! yay me!
That's just my 2 cents. But, honestly, do your math. I paid $5400 for a used machine and it has the same warranty as a brand new Janome or Brother. And it came with a table too. My local fabric shop was selling the 4 needle Janomes for $6700.
