just wondering what I can do to avoid static buildup in the shirts and if anyone else has this problem.
Usually fine for the first side, the second side print is usually when the static starts to build up. I assume this is because they land in a plastic container and the sorting tables are also plastic. when they're on my (metal) cart the cart actually shocks me if i touch it. when i put the shirt on the pallet, the metal sides of the pallet shock my hand when i'm smoothing it out. When the screen comes down to print, eventually the static transfers to the screen and causes the shirt to start sticking to the screen (no matter how much adhesive i use). the 'static cling' spray from the store doesnt work either, it just makes you choke from the horrible smell...
Should i buy a humidifier?
Should i not be using a plastic end of dryer bucket?
Should my plastic tables be covered in something else?
I dont want to have this problem when we get the automatic press, i dont want to shock electronics...
Thanks
Re: ways to avoid static?
I haven't really found anything to combat that, it's a pain in the a s s to get shocked everytime you load a shirt on a 1K piece run. Granted, I've only tried a few things and haven't made a point to kill static in our shop, so I'm sure there is a cure.
Re: ways to avoid static?
Anti-static mat and and anti-static strap around the ankle attached to the dryer make it all go away.
Re: ways to avoid static?
Same here fingers hurt from the shock...Shelly you might want to wear some rubber gloves like the doctors wear I use them to clean inks from screens to keep the old hands clean. Somewhere on a forum, someone mention grounding the dryer or press ,can't remember goggle girl goggle and when find it let me know to, my wife hates it at the end of the dryer. Oh yeah try some static cling wipes and wipe the belt
Re: ways to avoid static?
