What color separation software to use?!?!

United States

I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on the most user friendly color separation software they might have used. Right now I do all of it in Photoshop CS4 but I was wondering if there might be a product that would take some of the guessing out of it and just easier and less time consuming over all??

THANKS!!!

Wilflex EasyArt 2. Hands down. It's not only the cheapest, ($299) but it's the most efficient and has the most options out of all the color separation programs and plug-ins I have used over the years. 9-color separations used to take me hours to do, yesterday I separated a 9-color front AND back in only 30 minutes.

The only bad thing about it is that it only has e-mail support and the one guy who does it is in the UK, so it takes about 12 hours to get a response. After you buy, it takes 12 hours for the dude to manually send you an install code. I have been using this for quite some time and have never had any problems.

I would agree, Wilflex Easy Art is powerful and affordable option. We use Quick Seps Pro. and works great also. I got it on sale for 399. Separation Studio is 900 bucks I think (don't quote me). All of these programs offer a trail version so play around with them and see what works for you.

I think Separation Studio is down to $700 now, but you have to separate outside of Photoshop and then take it into Photoshop to tweak the seps. It's good, but not $700 good.

But boy howdy, is their email support system fast. We had an AccuRip (made by same company) issue and they responded within 10 minutes.
