What type of advertising works for you....

Our embroidery business is new, (6 Mos) and we are impatient in the growth of our business. We are not inexperienced, however, I worked 10 years for a large embroidery business and feel confident with what we offer, but need advice in how to build those relationships with new customers. Our sales person is me and therefore we are dependant on advertising and word of mouth. What seems to work for you, are you focusing on a specific area (hospitals, schools, sports, etc.) or does your business do whatever comes in the door?

Location:
United States

Hit up everywhere. I drop business cards off at every store I walk into. I would try non chain Hair salons, restaurants, bars, plumbers, HVAC, But really I would get in touch with Local graphic designers and give them a price break because you can actually get good art (I know you still have to digitize it but still).

Did you already have contacts from your previous work in embroidery? If you're not stepping on any toes, start with those people. Always ask for recommendations from current customers. Wear your work and always carry business cards. On social media, if your business is mostly local, make sure your fans and friends are local too. Keep your pages interesting and emphasize that you're a part of the community.
