Whats Press Should I Get? Vastex Hd2000 46, Riley Hopkins 6-4 Win Press?

wassup guys i have the chance to either get a slightly used but can pass for brand new vastex hd2000 46 press for $3500 or a brand new riley hopkins 6-4 win press for $2900. ive heard so many great things about both presses but i still cant make up my mind!. what do you guys think? thanks in advance - Jtriumphant

Vastex, over ANY manual out there!
It will beat you up if you get into a fight with it!
Holds perfect registration all day long.
If you have the extra $, get the Auto Flash w/foot pedal too, couldn't do without it when we use our manual press. If not, save up for it...you will be glad you did, I promise you.
Check on Ebay, you can sometimes find some killer deals on them.

i acutually bought the machine already it came with the press, kids platen, sleeve platen, acouple gallons of ink. misc. items, about 10 screens, a table top exposure unit from rayonet, and an 18x18 flash dryer.. paid $4000. the press looks brand new. but after reading some your post on here i feel like i over paid?! what do you guys think? this guys was local to and literally live less than 5 mins from my house. that played a huge part in me buying it.

So just a RH 6/4, fluorescent exposure and a flash with a few extras...?
If you already spent the dough, you really shouldn't be asking anymore.

However, $4000 can go a lot further in most cases...
especially right now with so much good stuff on the market and only a few serious buyers.

You still need to get a conveyor dryer, too.

Hate to be a downer.

You can't put a price on being able to see used equipment before you buy it. I have bought and sold my fair share of used equipment and a little buyers remorse always sneaks in. It sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Just remember you are way ahead of where you would be if you had paid for new.

i got the vastex hd2000 6-4 press., i am having buyers remorse lol. i've been looking at the vastex for the past 2 months and no one locally has that machine forsale. So when i found it i thought about it for a hard month and finally decided to take a plunge. The press looks brand new aside from the pallets bein a little stained. This guy i bought it from had his set up in his garage and he never did commerical work thats why it so clean. I researched a but b4 and i would of spent $5400+ for the press, tax, and shipping. so i think i got a good deal

Like I stated earlier, I've got a Vastex v2000. One downside is that they don't make autos and their pallets aren't interchangeable with m&r, workhorse etc. So if you move to an auto later on and use your manual as a sample press your capabilities will vary between machines. I think rh is in the same boat... In fact I'm pretty sure they have really crappy wooden pallets. But that is the only reason I'm considering switching brands. If you are just printing manual, Vastex is great.
