Greetings,
I have a question. I just got a Tuf Javelin and it has to run on an air compressor with at least 7.5hp. The people I bought it from ran if off 2 6.5hp compressors, with no problem. What I wanted to know, is if I could take a 5hp and a 4hp and run the machine off the both them. Is that possible?
Re: Air Compressors for Tuf Javelin
HP doesn't really matter as much as CFM and PSI output. What are the requirements for that press? I doubt you would need 2 compressors.
Down the coastlines with the winds we reign. Men of the north we leave the shores in flames.
Re: Air Compressors for Tuf Javelin
I run my 6 color off an IR 5 horse. Specs for the compressor is roughly 15 cfm @100 psi and it runs fine.
Re: Air Compressors for Tuf Javelin
The javelin 6/8 is a 21cfm machine. This is rated considering all heads are printing and flashbacks are installed. You can probably get away with the 5 hp but it going to run a heavy duty cycle which may be really hard on the compressor itself. It also may limit you when it comes to print & indexing speed.
Re: Air Compressors for Tuf Javelin
I have not completely timed the cycles of the compressor but mine probably kicks in about every 30 shirts and runs for about 2 minutes though I do have a few air leaks that aren't helping matters.
