I have a 10-needle babylock and I'm having problems with my machine not moving my cap down close to the brim of the cap to sew it out. The machine only goes so far then it stops. Can someone please suggest or tell me how to fix this?

Re: Babylock 10 needle cap trouble
Hey Carol,
Most cap frames on commercial machines wont embroider within 1/2 to 1 inch of the brim. There are ways to get around the limitations but I am not sure how on a Babylock.

Re: Babylock 10 needle cap trouble
Hello,
I am having the same issue with trying to get a design to stitch out closer to the brim of a cap and I also have a Babylock 10 needle.
I have not found any other answers or suggestions.
If there are any suggestions - we would love to hear them!
Thanks!
Re: Babylock 10 needle cap trouble
I really do not think there are any, not that make a noticeable difference. sorry. Home sewing machines usually do not have all the capacities of an industrial. You can go old school and beat the hat into a flat hoop with a hammer but the marks from the hoop may outweigh the benefit of sewing closer to the brim. (seriously, before modern cap frames this is how we would do them sometimes!)

Re: Babylock 10 needle cap trouble
Thanks for the post - I agree now after some research that there is not a solution within the machine parameters.
I ended up just adjusting how I hoop the hats - I just don't put the cap band all the way under the slot - just about halfway - and I have to wrestle the brim in a bit more - but it's not that big a deal timewise.
The design I am currently stitching looks much better a little lower and I am able to get fairly consistent results - so - at least it seems to work for this order!
Thanks!
Re: Babylock 10 needle cap trouble
I have two Brother machines (basically the same as Baby Lock) and run tons of caps.
IT CAN'T BE DONE! (which kinda sucks)
I'm looking at Tajima or SWF
