Hello-
I am looking at some information in reguards to comparing the following two machines:
Tajima TMEX - C1201
Brother 416
Do any of you use either of these machines or have opionions about either one??

I have been a technican on machines for over 20 years and tajima is my favorite. my biggest complaint on the brother 416 is you constantly get stuck by the needles because of the single pressure foot design.

Thanks for your comment... I have heard that Brother has a lot of plastic parts. Is that true? How durable are they??

Don't be afraid of plastics. They are a good thing in the world of mechanics. They operate quieter,do not require lubrication, and have a lower cost to mfg. as opposed to metal . The plastic reciprocator (drives needle up and down) will break when you hit a hoop, sparing metal drive shafts,gears,and other drive components from becoming damaged.

Depends on the price difference and year. If all was equal - I would likely go with the Tajima because parts are more prevalent and finding support is easier.
