I need a good reliable program to read & convert dst files to a older barudan fmc that runs off a 3.5 floppy disk. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks.

The TES View worked for me too, but I didn't have a DD (double density) floppy available. So I formatted a standard HD (high density) floppy as a DD. In order to do this you have to cover up the hole that doesn't have the slide lock with tape. Then open a dos prompt and type "format /t:80 /n:9 a:" Once it's formatted as a DD then you can use TES Viewer to format the disk for Barudan FMC and then write the file to it.

Hey there,
I am away from my shop at the moment, so I don't know definitly if it would support fmc format, but try a program called Buzz Tools, its a software made for home users, but it remarkably handy, it can convert designs of all kinds back and forth across formats, as well as make handy little design catalogs. If memory serves me right, its pretty cheap too, I think its around 100 bucks, which as we all know is dirt cheap for anything to do with the embroidery world. ha-ha.
Give that a shot, I'm sure you can google it.

I too have to put all my designs on a 3.5 floppy in DAT form to sew on the 20+ year old beast in our shop!! I feel your pain, I have had to re-digitize a couple things because I have not been able to find a reliable conversion program.
I will have to look at this too!

Hi Pigiron, i ran into this very same problem when we acquired an old Barudan. Go to this site and download this freeware:

The TES Viewer
It converts dst to fmc (among others) without any problems at all. It reads old single density disks and I think it formats them too.(I haven't needed to try that function yet.)
1. pull up your dst with the TES Viewer
2. click: file, then machine disk, then write
3. I had to change "channel" to a number
4. click write.
5. Done
any questions, I e-mailed Barudan and they walked me through it.
