ouch, that hurt!

For me I think your site is really cool. The main problem I personally see with being on the front page of Google and the like is you get clients that haven't a CLUE what it takes to do whatever process you are offering them... they are pretty much nearly all one-hit-wonders that can take more time and energy than they are worth....

We are NOT optimized and that worked well for us, direct marketing so we knew our clients were pre-vetted by us... we WANTED them as a client, now that worked.
BUT, for some reason that I have no clue what happened.. NOW it seems we are on the front page of Google most places in the US for embroidery digitizing... even though we are NOT optimized... so we are getting lots of new clients each week, but they are of the type I mentioned... one hit wonders... too much babying and explaining going on.. with very little ROI.
Oh well.

You are correct, due to Penguin Update - http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2012/04/another-step-to-reward-high-quality.html, which is change in algorithm of Google, to reward sites with good contents, have made your website ranking on many keywords.

So its good for you.

The people who were writing articles, spinning contents and submitting articles to get ranking and using un-natural link building, are the ones whose ranking gone down. Seems some issue in this algo update as well.

So we can see more sites going down in coming days with more updates from Google.

Nice website.

Yes seo helps with your ranking but it depends on your capacity.

I see you are a US based company providing vector services and digitizing.

If you can outsource your work to us, we can provide you very competitive rates:
vector starting from $4.00 per artwork
digitizing starting from $8.00 per design

Powerstitch Design Studio
powerstitch.com
$7.50 for L/B or Cap Logo

SEO has made our business work. Initially it was a local business with an informational web page. Once we incorporated SEO we started gaining new, more profitable customers. Google says what they look for in their many helpful sites such as Google Web Master Tools, the Google Webmaster Central Help Forum and theirYou Tube tutorials. Content is king and natural linking gained over time is very important. SEM can be tricky. You want to promote your product or service without having unnatural text. We've never used PPC but some people feel it works for them. I think if you have a good, helpful site that's easy to navigate and follows Google's guidelines then PPC isn't necessary.
