Hard stitches after washing fix?

I recently started embroidering with a machine, the shirts -cotton tees & polo blends all look fine once they are done, but after the first washing the embroidery gets hard or wrinkled.

Any suggestions on how to fix this or stop from happening?

THanks

;) First I would check the density of your embroidery. Your density may be too high step it down 5 - 10%, this is a natural tendency for new embroiderers. Another possible fix would be to change your backing, use a cutaway in 2.5 to 3 oz. Last check your dryer, many times too hot of a dryer can shrink the fabric a bit and cause the problems you note.
