Hi there, I am new to this post and have a question for all of you out there! How do you embroidery on a 100% cotton sweater? What type of stabilier to do you use, etc.? This sweater is woven, i.e. has lots of open "holes". Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated!!!

Some orders I would turn down and this would be one. The holes would concern me.
100% cotton wouldn't be a problem.

Jerri Ann, so true. One thing about this business is to know when to say no, and this would be one of these times for me.

Yes, I agree! These jobs are especially difficult because you can't test first.

LOTS of stabilizer ... lol
Ok, but seriously ... as much as my gut is telling me to recommend you not do it, here goes my advice. I would use probably some heavyweight cut away on the back, and you're probably going to need something like badgemaster (really, really thick solvy) on top. You probably won't find this is most stores, so I would say use a few sheets of tear away on top of that. Make sure you are using crisp tear away, not soft, as you will get those little fuzzies sticking out from under.
Sandwich the heck out of it, but at the same time try not to stretch the knit too much.
If time, and resources are not of issue, I would personally say, make a patch, and iron/press it on. That would definitely work, and you would not run the risk of ruining the sweater.
Good luck!
