Learning to use DesignShop

I have an embroidery business that started out home based with 2 single head Brother machines and BES software. I could digitize a bit after some instruction from the previous owner but mostly self taught. I then bought Embird because it seemed like an inexpensive way to learn a little more about digitizing and was quite flexible, especially for fonts, but the quality was sometimes lackiing. Now we bought a storefront business that came with a 4 head Melco (which we are trying to sell- lots of problems) and a computer with DesignShop Pro on it. I have played around with it and would like to learn more. Where can I get instructions or classes, online tutorials, etc. for this software? I really do best by watching instead of reading. I do not use the Brother software much anymore because we cannot run the designs on our Tajima.

DesignShop Pro is a quality piece of software! I am a trainer for Melco and teach digitizing. Where are you located? Give me a call at 402-890-2742 if you would like some help.

Thank you. I am out of the country right now but will contact you when I return. I do not want to buy another software program. My usual location is Oregon.

Hi, 3 software programs in how many years? Sounds like you like to punish yourself! I would suggest that if you plan on working with digitizing and embroidery for any length of time that you just start with a basic Wilcom system and purchase the upgrades as you need them... they have proven themselves to be a long term solution and you will never have to learn new tricks.. or start over as you have already done twice! But if you buy the wilcom it will grow with your business and you wont have to start over ever again.

But if you insist on trying the limited software that you now possess ... go to YouTube and search.. there are quite a few videos that show click by click how they are digitizing different designs. review them and see if they help.

Solid advice from Robert Young. Wilcom is your answer. I started out using Design Shop but found it to be very limited so i moved over to Tajima and it was much better. as what i see on screen is what i got in threads.

I have heard wonderful things about wilcom but have never tried it. Tajima is good but seem a little more challenging for a newby. At the moment, if you need digitizing assistance, let us know: signaturegraphicsonline@gmail.com
