Looking for a good single head embroidery machine

I'm new to this site. I have a small business that I have been running from a Toyota AD860 that I purchased new back in 2001. It has bit the bullet and trying to find a qualified tech or manual just isn't available any more. I'm not sure if it is a motor or board that is bad. So I am possibly thinking of investing in a used machine. Does anyone have any advice on a good machine?

wow, that is awesome that your machine is 15 years old! a testament to your keeping up with it's needs. Today, with your obvious experience, you should be fine with any preowned machine that has support available in your area. Tajima, SWF, Barudan, Happy, etc. as long as there is service support reasonably available any of these would be fine for you in my opinion. DO NOT go with some untested machine brand please.

What Robert said on finding a used machine.

If you just need the manuals for your 860, I have all of them if you'd like to try to repair the 860. We still run an 850 & 860 both & I saved all the service & parts manuals for them years ago as PDF's. Finding parts to fix the 860 will be the biggest issue I'd guess. If Javier still works for Datastitch, he's forgotten more about the older Toyota's than most people will ever learn and would be a good source to diagnose the problem if you can't find a technician locally.
