New to Embroidery

My name is Ed Clark. I have been in the printing industry for 40 years. 10 years ago, I moved to North East Arkansas....Pocahontas... This is a small community of about 6000. I have done just about all aspects of printing, including screen print and others. Problem is, not enough printing in the area to make a decent living. So, after trying many things, I found out the one thing really needed in my area is embroidery. Being familiar with Corel and Adobe products, seems like something I can do. Bought a Melco 10T and with the help of a good tech got it working like a charm. It only had 57 hours when I bought it....just needed the things you would think obvious after setting many years. So, now you will see me asking a bunch of questions....many which will seem stupid the the skilled embroiderer. I chose Wilcom Studio e2 for my software. Anyone who is proficient in this software, I would love to have you share your short cuts learned about the software. I will be trying to digitize many logos. The straight forward things like lettering and shapes, single color designs don't look out of my reach, but learning to break down logos given me by customers will take some learning. Thanks in advance for the information you generously give out. I will try to help those needing help creating graphics etc.
