Hi,
I want to start a small embroidery business out of my house. I already do names on baby items. I want to have a few designs as well such as handprints, footballs, flowers etc. I know I can purchase designs from sites like embroidery.com but they are copyrighted and I can't use them for commercial use. Where can I get designs that I put on the products I want to sell without getting into any trouble with a company?
Thanks!
Re: New Embroidery Business
Many of the designs from Dakota Collectibles, Balboa Threadworks or Great Notions or Anita Goodesigns, etc can be used for commercial use, you just cannot sell someone the "design" itself.... but generally you can sell all the embroidered goods you want with the images on them. Some of the sites do have specific designs that are licensed.. those are clearly posted for personal use only...so don't sell items sewn with those.
Also, Link up with a local digitizer to help you create your own unique concepts to help you build your own library over time.
Hope this helps
