New start up Brother BAS-415

Hey Everyone,

New to the embroidery world, come from the graphic and screen printing side of things a few years ago. The Wife and I wanna start up a small embroidery business and see how it goes and where it brings us, we already have a few companies that would be interested in us supplying them. Mostly wanting to do Hats, toques, hoodies and such, company stuff in general.

Looking over machines, I’ve noticed a lot of them starting at the $8000-$12000 mark and that’s just too much for us to put out right now, I started looking used and came across an old company closing down and they have a few brother 415s. Now I under stand it’s an older machine, but I don’t think they have changed that much ( electronics and such upgrades obvs) but they still put a design with thread into a material at the end of the day.

We are able to get this machine for $2000 with a full parts machine, lots of hoops and extras, as well their tech is going to walk us thru it, how to set it up, maintain ect.. This machine has been converted over to USB as well.

So what can you folks tell me about these machines? Is it worth it to go for it for the price and see how it goes? I look at it if it performed well it would be a huge savings and later on if we enjoy and grow with this we will look at a new machine. Thoughts? Thanks everyone!
