Alps MD1300 Printer

I got into the photp gift business a few years ago, I used an Alps MD 1300 printer which worked great, they went out of business and I bought a bunch of dye sub ink, the cable was a bi-direcctional cable, I now want to start using it again, I think I found the right driver, and bought a parallel to usb cable, my computer recognizes the hardware when I connect it, I go through the printing steps, and nothing gets printed, looking for help on getting this fixed, if not what is the best dye sub printer to use if I will use it off and on, some suggested the Epson 4880, however others say the heads clog up

Thanks,
I ordered the Alps Driver for windows xp, it has not arrived yet, I bought several cartridges of ink when I heard they may not be available anymore, I also have quite a bit of Alps Photo paper, What would you be willing to pay if I were to sell it?

I like the quality and will try to make it work.
Mark

I have an Alps MD1300 printer and it still works great, but my problem is finding mugs that will work with the ink and paper... HELP...:(

Hi Mark,

What version of Windows are you using? Windows 7 (64-bit) is not ALPS compatible. For XP and 2000 Windows will try to install and use the default Microsoft "plug and play" driver. This one has limited functionality. You need to use the actual ALPS driver.

What I did was let Windows install the Plug and Play driver. I renamed it and then installed the ALPS Drivers and they work without problems.

Let me know if this helped.

If you decide to replace your ALPS printer, I might be interested in buying it.
