I have been looking for a good vacuum top exposure unit to replace my old open style Harco unit. I had someone local to me contact me yesterday with a unit for sale. I tried to do some searching for the company without much success. He states it is from Global Equipment with a model number of GX550-2. He said is measures 31 X 46 inch. It would be a perfect size for me as I normally use 23 X 31 frames and I am hoping to move into a triloc set up at some point. I did write hi back asking what type of light source it contains and what wattage it is. I just thought maybe someone could shed some light on this product. I can pick this up VERY cheap if I move quickly and it is only about 40 minutes from my shop! Any info would be a big help.

Re: Anyone have info on Global Equipment?
It looks like several companies used this same shell. I notice National made one very similar.

Re: Anyone have info on Global Equipment?
Good info, thanks. I take it they must not be in business any longer? I even tried to call the number that is listed on the ID plate thinking that I would at least get a message....... Just rang and rang!

Re: Anyone have info on Global Equipment?
It looks like I could get this one for approx $250-300. I am currently using an old Harco unit with a mercury vapor bulb in it. I have burn times right at 5 minutes 30 seconds with is no real issue to me at this point. I also just received a vacuum top model last week when I bought some things from another shop but it is just a fluro tubed model and I just plan to sell it off right away. I like the thought of this enclosed unit as I have a ton of space within my darkroom to place it. I believe that you are correct that this is a halogen set up with two fluro tubes in the back of it. Any thoughts on this set up would be greatly appreciated. I just thought this may be an economical way to move into a closed in vacuum top system. I am perfectly happy with the way my old harco burns for what I am doing right now.
