I am looking for some help on a Melco EP-1 machine. My wife and I are newbies at this!
When the machine starts the design, it stops and had "remove the lock". Will someone give us a litlle help on what this may mean?
Thanks for any help.
Re: Help with Melco EP-1
There are three motors on this machine, two under the deck, and one on the right side of the sewing head.
there are two possible causes of your problem, the motor on the right side of the sewing head needs to be replaced. contact melco for this part, it is virtually impossible to find it anywhere else.
the other is there are two glass fuses on the main board located under the main deck. remove the bottom panel and visual inspect the fuses. replace if necessary.
Re: Help with Melco EP-1
It is either the mother board, or a belt slipping.

Re: Help with Melco EP-1
bigmac,
Motor is fine and also the fuses are good.
Tried everything again and it says, remove the lock.
Maybe I should explain how this all happened.
It was working fine but when the needle hit the plastic hoop, the needle broke. We put a new needle back in and tried it but it showed to remove the lock.
Would there be a safety lock somehwere, in case the needle did break? We looked at every page and the only thing we found is when th eneedel breaks, you may have to clean the upper shaft and remove the lock - but we can not find this at all.
Thanks again for any help.
