RPM Review

RPM did not switch there name. Still RPM! Rick even put out a statement warning people about Barnes and his new machine scam. Has nothing to do with the RPM company.

Cool, good to hear. Did the previous owner sell to upgrade to something with more stations or getting out of the business? I can't fathom why people SELL their used RPM presses unless something drastic happens like needing 4 extra stations or scaling back production.

RPM is what I'd prefer in terms of feature-set in a press, but if I had to choose for print area it would tip over to M&R or Anatol.

That's good to hear. What year model is your RPM? I'm wondering how close it is to mine even though it hasn't changed much over the years, there are a few little things here and there that have been added to make the press better. How many impressions as well?

I know you don't see many of these on the used market, due to several reasons like the quality of the machine and the fact that there aren't near as many out there compared to even the third best selling automatic brand on the market. It's really a great machine, and there are only a very few scenarios where I would get rid of ours. I would only trade it in on a new one or a much more expensive MHM S-type or a badass Challenger III. Ours is 3 years old and we have 600K impressions.

Just a wild guess but larger stroke, faster index, and backed by a company that isn't hunting and pecking at new company names/paint colors/representation/etc.

Yes to the larger stroke and faster index, but I think most don't realize what kind of features the III has within it's main control panel. It may lack some printhead features but you don't really need it when you have everything at your fingertips at the main control panel. You can literally change everything print related on the fly without leaving the control panel. I love having all the control right at the printhead but the only drawback on the RPM is the lack of control at the main panel when it comes to changing flash times. That's the only big improvement I would make on the RPM but a touch screen control panel would be sweet. And I guess the final reason would be the service after the sale that M&R provides is way beyond anyone else, it's not even close.

Going MHM would be considered an upgrade in my opinion! Nice, I saw the RPM come up for sale and it was in VA too only a few hours from me, but it came up a year too late or I would have been all over it. I still haven't seen an Stype in person, that'd be cool to drool over.

I can change flash time from the main panel on my Anatol, but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker if it didn't have that functionality. Does come in handy though at times when switching to 50/50 blends or warming up the pallets and speeding up production.
