I am trying to sew a design in 3D using foam on structured 6 panel caps. The problem I'm having is that I am unable to retain the volume of the foam when using tatami fill stitches. Unlike satin stitches the tatami hammers the foam flat. I know it's possible as I have example swatches (which were sewn on flat material) but I'm having a hard time determining what settings to use. I'm using Wilcom ES-45 Designer. I am experimenting with my machine tensions next but I'd rather not have to do that if it's something that can be taken care of on the digitizing end.

At the digitizing end try using very low desnity. That's almost the maximum you can do while digitizing.
Other settings will have to be adjusted on the machine itself.
