Prices

I guess I'm being a little nosy/curious here. I've been thinking about buying a new machine, and I go through the websites like tajima and barudan, and they have all kinds of cool machines and lasers, and sequins and chenille.

Do you guys know how much this stuff costs? I know what some of the small singles cost, but what do some of these bigger machines cost, like the bigger multi-heads and the lasers with the sequings and all that? Naturally there are no prices anywhere. Im kind of feeling like its a if you have to ask you can't afford it, LOL.

I want a 4 head, I'd like to buy something NEW, but thats a hefty price tag.

Hey Tyrk.

In an effort to keep this relatively short (yeah right, long-winded is my middle name) I'll try to lay out some prices/advice for ya'.

Buying a new machine is like buying a car, the prices are very much negotiable, you have to feel out your sales rep. Don't be afraid to make them fight for it. Take your quotes and go back and forth, play the "Hey Barudan, guess what Tajima just quoted me" and see who can go lowest. (Then buy the Barudan anyway) Sorry, shameless plug for the "big B"

At any rate:
6 Head Barudan (new) $53,000 but you should be able to get this down to about $47,000
4 head Barudan (new) $42K ish try to pay around $37K
15 Head Barudan is right around $115k try to pay about $100k

Chenille machines are VERY expensive, about $60,000+ for a mixed 2 head. (tajima)

Sequin "guns" for embroidery machines are about $2,500 a piece. Corders are about the same.

A Proel laser bridge, depending on the configuration, about $200,000 for the laser itself, and then about another $20,000 to $50,000 for the setup, depending on how many heads the bridge stretches across.

A SeIt zoom laser is in the same neighborhood price wise, but no where near as nice as the Proel (IMHO)

You are unfortunately right, with a lot of the bigger machines, especially chenille, its crazy how expensive they get, and how fast. lol Never hesitate to ask a price, you never know when someday you can afford it. :)
