True type to embroidery font comversion

How do you create custom fonts from a true type font. I have several digitizing programs that will import true type fonts and create embroidery files. But, I would like create a series of letters and numbers that can created from a true type font and be saved as an embroidery fonts. I would them be able to load them in my digitizing program as a custom embroidery fonts.

Can anyone suggest a method?

hi.
seems thats a matter that you interested in, for long time.
so you have a digitizing soft. You know about predigitized fonts, you know about softwares, which are able to import TTF into your design ( as ready-to-go objects ).
Probably you know that some softwares can give you option for letting you draw any kind of shapes (generated with stitches) which could be associated to a letter of a new font of yours.
Thats why I sugest you use these most advanced softwares which have the whole pack of these "abilities".
But
Thats absolutely unprofessional - the usage of:
1.predigitized fonts
2.the TTF conversion
------
What should be proffesional?
Well, for me it is:
make your letters of that needed font, one by one, associating them (each one of them during the process) to that new font of yours.
All this process could take lot of time, but if you do this with care and precision,
you will get mayb very good result at final.
If you not professional digitizer, just find one to pay for the job and then you be ready to go
