What machine should I buy for a small shop?

Should I go with a 2 head? I'm starting a screen printing biz in my house and I'd like to add embroidery to enhance it. It will just be myself at first for awhile and maybe my daughter. I wanted to get her going on the embroidery part. A one head machine is almost in my price range at the moment. Will that be fast enough for a shop of my size? I want to be able to do small corporate jobs, event ball caps and maybe some groovy bowling shirts.

Thanks for any info!!

Hello,
I saw your posting on digitsmith.com. I have a similar business and am attempting to sell my machines in order to buy a larger one. I have had excellent service from both machines, which I purchased new from the dealer, and he has continued to service them.

In my small business, it has been advantageous to have 2 single head machines instead of 1 two head machine, because this allows me to work on 2 different jobs at the same time. With a 2 head machine, both heads will only sew the same design. Just a thought.

Anyway, I have a Brother PR600 with the cap attachment, flat hooping system, rolling stand and all the hoops and accessories for $6000.00

I also have a single head, 12 needle Inbro machine with the cap attachment, flat hooping system, rolling stand and all the hoops and accessories for $8000.00

If you would like info on these machines, please email me directly at rghayes@starband.net.

Thanks and good luck
Rhonda

2 head machines would be a very very good decision. If you plan to make small jobs like upto 5 pieces, then a single head is ok. But you are thinking of some slightly larger quantities like 12 or 24 pieces, a 2 head machine would be the best.

We have 2 barudan machines that are 12 heads each and one Tajima that is a 4 head. Honestly speaking there isnt much difference in price of a 4 head and a 12 head machine.

If you find a 2 head machine for a good price, i would recomend you TWICE to buy that instead of a single head. I'm sure you will remember me in future for giving you a good suggestion.

 Almost 12000 satisfied customers enjoying just half the price.
