While at church this past Sunday I was reminded in the bulletin that this is Breast Cancer awareness month. That somehow got me to thinking how I rarely hear of any good female digitizers? Dont ask me how or why, but it did. lol So are there any female digitizers out there that you would like to recommend?

Hi! I have over 12 years experience in digitizing and embroidery. I have it from the bottom up.
Re: Where are the good FEMALE digitizers?
I am a female digitizer in Seattle, WA where I own my own business. I have been digitizing since 1995 which I can't believe it has been that long. I started out after college and worked for a digitizing company in Minnesota where there was about 1/3 female to 2/3 male ratio.

Welcome BJ24. This post is over a year old and you are only the 5th female contractor mentioned.

Re: Where are the good FEMALE digitizers?
I was surprised at the original post because I never really thought about it before that digitizers tend to lean towards men.
I know when I first started my boss only hired artists to train as digitizers, so I wonder if that is still the case. When I read on boards I tend to see more male artists posting so I wonder if there is any correlation.

thanks, does she do contract digitizing or only for her own embroidery? I googled Swan Designs and did not get anything.

She is on Pulse and Tajima Yahoo groups. She did some great work for me on small lettering.
She does contract digitizing, pricey but great work. I do not know what happened with Swans designs, I know that she won a bunch of awards for her work.

Do you get Stitches Magazine?
Look at the latest Stitches Magazine. In the Digitizing awards there were 4 female winners and 4 males winners. Seems like an even split. Maybe there's not as many well known female digitizers, but we do exist. Rachel
Re: Do you get Stitches Magazine?
nice, looks like only one is a contract digitizer, the other women all work for embroidery shops and really dont digitize for others. But of the ones listed on here so far that do digitize for others it is interesting to see their pricing.. WAY different than what you typically see on this forum!

That was an interesting read in Stitches, thank you for sharing. I saw a digitizing company on there winning awards that I have used in the past and I thought they did great work but I had some issues with their turnaround time. I guess now I know what they were busy working on!
