I used to use my real name....until one day I did a google search of my name.

My photography studio is my real name...so if someone googled me...everything under my real name would show up.

Once I posted in a thread here....then later in the thread....someone posted something about having sex with donkeys and midgets.

Well...that thread pulled up in google.

My post was good....just the thread went sour later down the road.

so..I changed.

I am in a photography forum where everyone has to use their real names.

But it is a private forum and google doesn't penetrate it.

Now that's a threesome I can live without.

Sorry to hear that but I would hope that anyone seriously checking you out for a shoot would realize that the donkey thing was not real? maybe the other, but still. lol I guess to my benefit I have the same name as a somewhat famous dead actor... so I would never make it high enough in google for my donkey story to surface.

There is only one or two here that actually do the changing names like underwear (or maybe even more often than underwear). You can spot them a mile away though.

They do it to hide....people that do stuff like that, clearly have something to hide.

I had this name since my America Online dial up days. Anonymity was key for a 13 year old engaged in chat room shenanigans during a time when curse words were funny.

Same here I had the same name then and that was the days when hacking chat rooms was so easy and quite fun.

I use alan802 on all the other forums but I was selling something here for the business when I signed up and just never changed it. I've thought about having my normal forum handle to talk about every day BS and using the sri handle for moderating duties and non biased talk. The 802 is from my college days, I was the 802nd initiated member at of my fraternity at Texas State. It doesn't make much sense to most but that number that was given to you was very important. There are numerous places around that college town that have that 802 marked or carved into it. We always were marking things and places with our "phi" to more or less mark our territory. There wasn't any public places around town that hadn't been tagged in one way or the other, but it wasn't done distastefully, mostly discreetly. We were the only fraternity that gave that much attention to our number, it was a badge of honor that most were very proud to display any chance they got.
