Wilcom Software

I have Embroidery Studio 1.5 for my digitizing software.

It runs on Windows 7.

I just bought a new computer with Windows 8.

No go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called Wilcom and their answer was....

I can update Embroidery Studio 1.5 to Embroidery Studio 2.0

for...get this...$1400.00

I am not jumping levels....same level....same software.

$1400.00 is crazy to upgrade to the same level software and the only choice to run Windows 8.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Embroidery Digitizing Software... call tomorrow and it might be $900 or even $2000.

When I recently purchased a Windows 8 computer it came with the option to dummy it down to windows 7... I know that is not what you want to do, but it could be a free option if you have this ability on your new computer?

That is how they roll!

I have heard some stories of extreme price ranges, for instance we paid close to ten grand for something someone else got for 2K.

Loved ES6 but seriously not happy with their new embroidery studio, compounded with the fact that Corel is built in to it makes it even more sucker.

I decided not to go back to windows 7.

I called Corel today...They could not upgrade my copy of corel because it was in wilcom software...no serial number....the dongle.

I needed to buy the full version of X6 at $450

then

They Corel guy said he understood my problem and made me a good deal.

He sold me CorelDraw Graphics suite X5 which is last years version for only $149.

I jumped on it....In the wilcom software I only had X4

I am good to go now!

hi, but can you use CorelDraw Graphics to digitize with?

No..I actually have a new machine with Windows 7 for embroidery.

Wilcom and Corel work with windows 7

I needed Corel for my wife's rhinestones.

I bought her a new computer with windows 8.

oh, my bad.. I thought this thread was about using your digitizing software with Windows 8... ?

it is only because you have to install wilcom to install corel.

I bought a new windows 7 ultimate machine off of ebay to save me the problems associated with the abject failure of W8. Never ceases to amaze how microsoft can be so out of touch with the primary users of their products. I guess if Jessica Alba uses it that means the rest of us should too:rolleyes:.
