Hello everyone. Great forum Ya'll got here. Ive learned so much from it already! My wife and I are wanting to jump feet 1st into embroidery. We have ZERO experience, none, zilch!. Ive considered buying a new machine that comes with training for $10K. Ive also considered buying a used machines for under $6K and maybe trying to figure it out with on line tutorials and forums.
Ive learned how to rebuild engines and many other things just from the interent. So im thinking i can maybe wing it through this. Or is this not advised?
My question is. Is it worth it to buy a new machine that comes with training and all these gret packages or can couple like my wife and i figure this out? Does it take lots of experience to dabble in this exciting world of embroidery?
we want to mainly do logos and numbers and letters on hats, sports equipment bags and shirts. We have 2 daughters that have many friends that are big into softball and have many teams that we can help out if we can get this machine and learn it.
ive been looking primarily at a Highland 1501C
also redlines, Ive read the horror stories on nicoma. i like old machines to like used toyotas which i know are discontinued. My wife likes the brother 10 needle machine 1000 wizbang with the scanning camera etc etc.
which is a good beginner well build machine for people like us?
If this goes well, then we'd like to start a very small niche business and take off with it..if not then our machine may end up for sale on her someday..LOL!
any input would be appreciated.
anyone in the DFW area with experience thats not a salesman who would want to take the time to sit down and talk to me about this stuff over BBQ or something..Dinners on me!
Thank You
