Just curious if any of the internal components on older drying ovens -- like insulation material, boards, gaskets -- ever contained asbestos. Anybody know if that was ever used?
Re: Asbestos in vintage dryers?
Asbestos was widely used in many different products.... but is only hazardous in it's friable form (dust). Wiping dust up with a damp rag is the most practical way to dispose of questionable dust.
Most states require training and testing to be a qualified asbestos remediator.
The abated material goes to a special landfill.
