Economic in USA

How about the economic in America recently? Seems that still very low, isn't it?

Having started a serious nose-dive in 2007.... I personally think that in our industry things are ramping up again. Businesses seem to be loosening their purse strings a bit and are ordering more embroidered items. We have seen many clients ordering more than they have in years... albeit they are very small clients and did not sell embroidery much, apparently they are all getting orders now. And it all adds up.

Hey Robert,

Do you remember the big crash is 1998? I had 420 heads then. Took me out, and almost killed 5B's too. They had almost 1000 heads, about 400 in Zanesville, and their new plant in Manville VA opened with 600 heads, and was closed within months. Jubilee was sold, and Liberty moved almost everything to Mexico.

Yeah, I worked as a digitizer then for a hat manufacturing company with nearly 200 heads. Fortunately caps were just a small part of all the promotional products that business dealt with. I left them in 2001 and started Volant and just a few years later that company was gone. They had 700 employees here in San Antonio and nearly 4,000 nationwide. No more. Bought up, pieced out and sold for scrap, lol!

2007 - Was awesome

2008 - 2010 sucked, lost a ton of money.

2011 - started to gain it back.

2012 - Good year

2013 - looks like the Best year ever so far

I have heard a lot of companies got hit hard during the recession period and went out of business.

We are seeing clients bring work back to the US from previous Chinese manufacturing, as price points have risen from the artificial lows of the past 10 years. We are just plain slammed and this is our SLOW time.

Did some serious hunkering down in 2009. Seemed like it hit here a little later than other places. Work we contracted out we brought in-house to keep employees and not lay off. Meant investing in some equipment with tax laws in place, but deliveries, costs and quality improved dramatically. Had our best year ever in 2012 and are now up 18% so far this year.
