Have you heard of an embroidery thread that is resistant to bleach. I am about to get a new account that uses lots of white shirts and the customer says their current vendor used a thread that does not fade when the garments are washed with bleach. I contacted my current supplier and they don't know.
Can anyone help with this???
Thanks to all.
Re: Fade resistant thread
Madeira now has a new thread called Frosted Matt that is supposed to be great for these types of jobs. Check them out. It is available in 161 colors.
Re: Fade resistant thread
 Highly recommend the Madeira Poly Neon, use it for all uniforms, smocks, aprons in fact everything! Great thread and bleach resistant. No need to look any further.
Re: Fade resistant thread
Our Iris polyester thread is resistant to bleach and industrial washing. It is used in a lot of embroidery for industrial laundries and stands up well to an industrial wash.

Re: Fade resistant thread
Can you ask the previous vendor what thread was used?? or ask the customer to find out?
Usually poly thread will stand up to bleach better than others, but with all the technology out there, just google bleach resistant threads... something will come up to give the info ...
Re: Fade resistant thread
Rayon thread will bleach out. Use polyester thread.

Re: Fade resistant thread
I am currently embroidering a large quantity of white cooks jackets. I use Madeira thread and have been advised to use their Poly Neon thread if the item is to be bleached. Poly classic will also stand up to the washing temps but neon , I am told, is better.
You should also point out that it is probably illegal for people to wash clothing using bleach as it is a hazard to the environment.
