Need Help With My BabyLock BMP6

I am getting this error on my machine. "Main Motor Encoder Signal Error." When I look it up in the manual it says to contact a technician. I am in the middle of now where and the closest tech is 65 miles away. I talked to one guy who says it has a bearing that needs to be oiled but you have to tear the machine apart to oil it. Any one ever had this problem? Any one know of a good tech in central Alabama?

Thanks

This error is caused by something that is bent on the upper shaft.? It is a thin
plastic like disk that turns between two sensors.? When this gets bent the
dealer needs to order the part and replace it.? It is a bit involved and not
recommended for someone not trained to try to replace.

Donna I sent you a private message from Embroidables. This is from a Yahoo group but for some reason my response to you yesterday was deleted.

Thanks for the info. I am scheduled to take my machine in Saturday morning. I just hate having someone do something I feel I should be able to do myself. I worked in a garment factory for 10 years and learned to fix almost every machine in the plant. I have had my Brother and Singer machines appart many times and my serger but unfortunately I have been to affraid of breaking something on my 6 needle machine so I have not taken it apart. It has so many computerized parts and I know nothing about those. I asked the tech at the shop where I am taking it to please let me watch so I can learn more about it but he didn't sound like he was on board for that.

I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks again for the info. It could save me lots of money if it is that part and not the motor like some of the techs said it was.

Just wanted to give Donna Congrats! Not very many people would dig into any repairs themselves. I think it's great that you fixed machines in a factory. The tech doesn't want you to watch him for two reasons. 1. Most people who watch, just get in the way and cause more trouble. (obviously not your case.) 2. If you learn to fix the machine yourself, the tech doesn't make any money nor does the shop where you take it. By the way, I don't know how old the machine is, but you could void the waranty if you do anything yourself. How do you like your machine? Would you recomend that I buy one? Thanks.
