PR-620 Price

I just got done looking at the PR-620 by Brother. Looks like a very nice machine and everyone on here has been great about teaching me more about it.
She said that the price was $8000.00, is that good or not. I have to say that I have full confidence in their support to me. In fact she was going to send out one of her salespeople (who owns one) to my house to show me how to work it. She also said that if there was any issue's at all they provide full service and support. This is not a fly by night store, they have at least five stores in the area.
Opinions would be great!

$8k is high for a brother ... You can buy a tajima for $10k. and that is a true industrial machine.

I know that I will get flamed for this but I think if you are willing to spend that kind of money use it towards a real machine. I worked on one of those for a year and hated it but this was after working commercial embroidery machines. Also for resale value I would buy a good used Tajima. I just purchased a 2005 TEHX-C1501 for just under $10K.

Our first machine was a Babylock EMP 6 and we still have it and use it regularly in our home based embroidery shop, very little problems, thanks to a dependable service dept. where we brought it. We recently purchased a EMP 8 and use both in craft shows due to their lighter weight, they are nice machines for the cost. $8,000.00 is considerable more than we paid for either one we currently own. That is high.
We also own two SWFs in our shop, we quickly learned the smaller machine would not do the larger designs that customers bring in.

We also have 2 SWF machines and a PR600II. I am considering selling the PR600 and putting that money towards a multihead machine as business has been picking up since we started back in August of 08. The PR600 was our first machine. We bought it used, I think it is a 2005 model. The machine works great and has been used less than our other two. My wife uses it mostly to do monogramming while the other two are tied up on bigger jobs. I would like to get down to one single and a multihead or two. Anyway, let me know if you are interested, I have all the hoops, cap frame, and fast frames to go with it. And it will be alot less than $8K.

I tend to agree with GEBBER. I think that $8000 is high. I can get you a used Brother Single Head BES-901 for $9000 that is like new. With shipping this may not be a good bet for you in your location but like GEBBER said this is a true industrial/commercial machine and will last much longer then the PR-600/620. I am a Brother and Tajima Technician with over 15 years experience and I would not buy it for that price, no matter how much time they are going to spend with you and where they are willing to go. Invest in your long term future with that kind of money not just the next couple of years.

PR600 has a weak engine, actually 1500-1600 hours. and necessary replacement of the engine. I have four PR600 - changed three engine. 1 engine cost $ 100. I buy used on 4000 dollars. Industry Tajima certainly better.

That is WAY above our budget! We are talking about clamshell press's or swing-aways and not more than about 1000.00.

Glad to see you're getting into the business
I have a toyota 9000 and we have had great success with it its the same as a tajima neo
barudan has a good rep as well. if you know about which direction you plan on going then
consider space and how much work area as well. small machines are great but we now
need a bigger one. new comes with training and most manufacturers also offer training
for a price..... but if you know nothing about the business it will save you so much..
if you have not seen these machines actually work then spend some time looking at
used ones and get a demo if you can find some one close to you..we live in northern ky
we will help if we can...also the nnep show in columbus ohio is this weekend
