Hi All, I like to draw and have basic Photoshop skills and would like to start screen printing on the side. I have a very limited budget to start. Is there an industry recommended book for newbs like me like a for dummies book or something similar? Also how much space does a basic setup take? Can a decent basement do? thank you.
Re: Recommended Screen Printing Books
There are many printers who only have a few hundred square feet to print in, so a basement will probably work just fine. There are some really good books at screenprintbooks.com if you want to learn how to do things the right way. The owner of that site (Bill Hood) also has some great classes to train new screen printers.
Re: Recommended Screen Printing Books
Hours of YouTube videos, and ryonet and vastex among others do courses I think.
You can read every book, but nothing like experience, and quickly find out weather you have "it"or not....
Re: Recommended Screen Printing Books
Definitely nothing better than hands-on learning. Start with a book then attend seminars/classes for the basics.
Re: Recommended Screen Printing Books
Not the only book, but one which gives a very good overview of the entire process, and one which most will recommend for someone new who really has no idea of where to start:

You might find a used copy on eBay. A 10-year old one is about as good as a new one, although the new ones I think include info on direct-to-garment. Also available at the link as an e-book.

Thank you!
I will check out all those links.
