I just want to take a minute to say something. I don't think it is restricted here and I am not selling anything. I went though a couple of different software brands and wanted to get a shout out of praise for Floriani. This company provides excellent customer support, answers the phone, provides DVD training videos, and gives you free future upgrades. So if you are looking for an awesome embroidery digitizing software, then go download the trial version of Floriani and give it a shot. A company that provides a phone number and answers the phone within one to two rings is pretty impressive in my book. I am new to digitizing and to have the customer support like this is priceless.
Once again, I am not selling anything, but just want to give praise and recommendation based off my experience.

why would you think that? isn't ALL digitizing software under 50 bucks?? don't you just scan the image in, press a few buttons and VOILA out comes a perfectly acceptable embroidery file? (award winning probably as well!)

Sierra embroidery software is free
sophie sew is free. Wilcom is the most expensive software reaching to 15,000. Hatch by wilcom where in board forums people says is better than wilcom e3 cost $1099 and during Christmas season it was 799. Buzzedit is $170. SewWhat which is a great software cost $65.
i don't know much about embroidery software, however i've bought generic stuff from ebay before, such as asus laptop battery. I'm sorry that i posted it from ebay however there are many software that have gotten cheaper.

crazy...i spent $17,000 on my first software program in 1996. actually twice...i bought two. Wilcom seemed like a bargain at $3000 (or whatever it was)

When i got a 4 head from barudan in 2014, they were selling e3 for $15,000. The price of wilcom is 3000, however if you like all the elements, it will cost up to $15000.
I have Floriani total control (not U), which was an ok software, however hatch is the best embroidery software at $1099.
Also unlike wilcom e3( Security dongle) Hatch check through internet connection.

i don't know about hatch...i just watched a little video about it and it looks like e3 has many more options and features. hatch looks pretty simplified. seems like e3/e4 should have more for the money
