I have an "old" BARUDAN BEAT-IV-YST, that I bought several years ago. I have had no chance to use it till now...I'm retired. The problem is I've had NO TRAINING, and have no clue how to start to use it. I don't even know if or what kind of software it has. Any help, advice would be appreciated. thanks

Re: training? help
I would call Barudan http://www.barudan.com/ to determine what type of software will run on your machine. You might have the option of choosing something that has training classes that you can attend. If you can't attend a class then try to choose a program that has good phone/email support to answer your questions. After you understand the basics of how to load a design in your machine and how to assign threads then you can learn a lot on your own by practicing different designs on different materials. There are lots of online embroidery sources including different email lists, forums and trade magazines (sign up for a free subscription) with tons of helpful articles http://www.asipublications.com/Stitches/ and http://www.impressionsmag.com/impressions/index.jsp . If you're able to attend a trade show http://www.issshows.com/issshows/index.jsp or http://www.nbmshows.com/ there are lots of helpful classes.
