Vastex 2000

I have been reading about different presses. I keep reading good reviews on the Vastex 2000. But, I have one and so far, I would not recommend this one to anybody. There is a lot of play and you have to look every time before dropping the screen. Am I doing something wrong? I inherited this press. Could it have been assembled incorrectly? Appreciate any comments.

I would say either you didn't get a 2000 or something is broken on it. I had one for years before upgrading and it was rock solid.

The press is built like a tank, should not have any trouble with it. Mine is 13 years old and still works perfect.

First off it may need to be dialed in. Some of the bolts that hold the print heads on may need to be tightened, center bearing may need to be oiled and adjusted. The reg gates may need to be reset. If you go to the Vastex web site you can download the manual and follow the steps to "tune up" the press. They are also very helpful over the phone.

As for looking to before you drop the screen, that's just experiance working the press until you have a feel for where the screen should be before you drop it.
