So, currently I'm using Embroidery Fonts Plus for all our text and outsourcing for the digitizing. I managed to convince my boss to consider getting actual digitizing software so we don't have to outsource. So far I've heard good things about Wilcom, Embird, Floriani and Creative DRAWings. I have read enough at this point to figure any really really good software out there is going to be really expensive. So, we don't want to spend too much but I really want good software that is going to give me enough digitizing freedom so we don't have to update for a while. Any advice?
Re: Looking for digitizing software
I think when you weigh all the costs, outsourcing is usually the best option.
No annual software licenses or upgrades
No computer maintenance costs
High quality work by a dedicated team of digitizing professionals
Put your staff to work making sales, not digitizing.

I use Wilcom and love it. But like you said it is expensive software.

Re: Looking for digitizing software
I'm basically looking for something that's good enough that we don't have to outsource, but simple enough that I'll actually understand what I'm doing. I've been running all the embroidery for only 1 1/2 to 2 years, so I'm still pretty new at this.
Also, has anyone heard of embroiderylord.com? I found an older version of Wilcom ES 65 for $800, but I don't know if I can trust it.
Re: Looking for digitizing software
I purchased Ethos software, and for the money I think it is one of the best available. I do not have time to learn it; so I am selling my copy for $895. Check out their web site. This software will do anything you need it to do, and has over 100 fonts included.

besides Wilcom, I hear through a very credible source that I-Qliqq is one worth looking at:
