outlining fonts

I am new to using digitizing software and just can not seem to understand how to outline a font. I have wilcom software. I want to outline lettering in a different colors such as ONR with the center being gold and the outline in red. Can anyone help Thanks

Which Wilcom software are you using?
If you have Embroidery Studio, go into graphics mode and put the outline around the text when the text is a vector graphic. ie, not digitised. Highlight the outline or both outline and text and press convert. The program will then convert the outline and text to embroidery.
Or if the text is not a ttf font then in Embroidery mode, write the text , duplicate the text . Highlight one of the copies of the text and press convert. You are now in graphic mode as a vector. Put an outline around the text, seperate outline from text , highlight it and then convert back to embroidery. Move the duplicated copy back inside the outline and the job is done.
Its easier to do than to write it....
